idk about vittatus not growing fast

west1 had one that grew very fast, mine was slow because i only fed it once or twice a week, but if you feed them a lot and the quality of the water/size of tank is really good they can grow quickly on you

You think he grew fast? 2-3 years and only put on about 8-9" (got him around 8-9" n he left at 16-17")? That was with 6 days a week of food till he ignored it, once a year PraziPro, lots of current and weekly 50% H2O changes from a 300gl... Maybe that was great growth for ATF but it felt like forever for him to grow

I might just buy both since this is probably the most difficult decision I've had to make concerning fish. Would it be safe to keep these two together? If not I'm most likely going to go with the Armatus.

I don't reccom this unless you dont mind loosing the ATF (have you seen the Vid Sumoninja posted with the Cichla?). I would start now and in 2 years add an Armatus;)

vittatus...I thought they were slow growing, until he got on massivore, now the grow rate is crazy!

X2 Massivore will speed up anyones growth... look at Charles Barkley (oops, wrong direction)

Yeah, They are rarer here too.

Don't think so... 2006's import has far beyong the numbers of total ATF's ever imported IMO... and there has been about 3-4 more Armatus imports since, Aqua and IA have some now. I give the Vittatus the Rare Award:headbang2

Its funny since i was just thinking which of these two fish I should get myself... personally, Vitattus, but both are pretty cool fish... whatever you get, be sure to post photos & keep us updated :)

Ha, That's a funny coincidence, I didn't know that this decision would be so difficult! :nilly: Armatus got the most votes so I'm probably going with one of those, I'll keep you guys updated.
