I used to think fin colors was a key... I was wrong. There is a thread here by chihux (something like that Lol) with how to ID them. Goliaths are easy to seperate. To get a true VATF, its tough imo. This is why I say I question Aquascape's "VATF". Their ATF stock came in with the mass flood of FATF that was going around. I believe Wes knows what he has as he has shown proper ID in this section of ATF's. If you want a true VATF like my Avatar pic... pay the extra cash from Wes (you might get one with antlers!!). just my 2 cents.

I agree 100% E. I tried buying ATF from Aquascape and it turned into a nightmare. I was willing to buy what they had regardless of what it was. Chicx stepped in and helped ID, but after they were ID'd they "were no longer for sale". There's only 2 sources I'd trust for ATF - Wes, and anyone who has had Chicx help ID.... lol.

I personally don't understand why anyone would want a Vatf over a Tatf...... lol.

Agreed ...I have had three tatf and one Fatf the Fatf seems most personable following me waiting for food like a cichlid would .. The tatf even schooled together seemed skittish Vatf seem to be the most common ATF

It was about 8 months ago that i got my gatf from oceans and seas for 125 and they had a vatf at the same time for 100

Maybe it dosnt happen all the time but they pass on the good price when they can

Yeah Wes from Rare fish told me the vittatus should come in near the end of the year. But wow, $100 for VATF from Oceans n Seas? I like the store, but they are known for some really high prices. I'll be checking in around Oceans n Seas and Fantastic Fins.
