maybe the cabinet just looks small. Frills can get 3 feet sometimes though. My buddys male was 2.5 and not full grown yet.

the largest they get is only 34" with 2/3 of that being their tail, a 3' long enclosure would be enough for them just as long as it is nice and tall so that it can climb. that is the main requirement for them.

also keep in mind that if you choose to add orchids to your tank, the biggest lizard you would be able to put in there would be a small anole, otherwise, those flowers would be shredded. you could put frogs in there if you went in that direction though.

36"x24" would be good for a carpet python up to somewhere between 6 and 7 feet. The standard rule is 1/2 the snake's length long and 1/3 the snake's length wide, but you're talking dimensions bigger than a 40 breeder, and lots of people keep their carpets in 40 breeders.

What type of carpet are you looking at? I'd avoid anything larger than a Jungle- no Bredl's, no Coastals. Both have the potential to get WAY too large. Looking at any breeders at all yet?

The diamond blood has the potential to add some size to that snake. If you do for with a jungle x diamond cross, I'd go with a male for that cage, and hope that it'd stay on the smaller side, compared to a female that could get quite large.

Will Bird produces some GORGEOUS Jungle x Diamond crosses and is an awesome guy to deal with. I can't say enough good about him. Anthony Caponetto is another one who produces amazing ones, but his prices are a little higher.

Ah, if that's the case, then go for it! I dunno how much you know about carpets, but Bredli are awesome snakes that are a little different from the norm and enjoy climbing a bit more than some other species, and you could always look at diamond x coastal crosses. Will Bird produces some awesome natural diamond x coastal intergrades (meaning from regions that interbreed in the wild). Just as pretty as diamond x jungle crosses, and natural compared to man-made.

And my only other concern- I just want to make sure you know that carpets have the potential to grow FAST. If you're spending a ton of money on this cage (and it doesn't sound like you are), you could be in for a surprise with an animal that outgrows it in 2 years and you're looking for something else. Two of my bredli are only 2 years old, and are each over 6' long, with the female being closer to 7' than 6'. I didn't know they grew that fast until I got my first carpet (almost 9 years ago now? Wow, it doesn't seem like all that long ago . . .), and I was expecting something along the lines of a boa constrictor that would take 4 years or so to reach adult length.

One final thing- Did you post HerpFamily for a while? Your name seems familiar, and I keep thinking it's from there.
