Lionfish are tough and as was mentioned earlier predatory fish are used to the feast and famine life cycle. He is also probably still getting adjusted. Try hand feeding. This is how I originally got mine to eat. I took some selecon enriched krill and slowly approached him with it. Finally I got it right in front of his face and let him take a good look at it, and he decided to take it. Try it, it worked for me.
