After visiting the park visitor center, I noticed the large aquarium that they had there. It has a Black Crappie, a white sucker, a couple Bluegills, and a bunch of fathead minnows right now. I snapped a couple pics. I got involved when I was looking at the tank and I asked who took care of it. She admitted that it didn't receive a lot of attention. I volunteered to take care of it. I believe it's a 125. I am going to put in some driftwood and rockwork, and try and get the monster crappie on pellets and have them stop buying baitstore feeders. The pH was low, and the detritus in the bottom of the tank will take many vacs to remove. Today was my second day, I go once a week. The water conditions have improved slightly, and the fish are definitely showing better health. I also snapped a pic of a red squirrel that was right next to the window. I will give updates as I improve the water quality and aquascaping. Going to be a great tank when I get it going. Filtration is undergravel with three powerheads. I cleaned the powerheads and got much better production out of them. I also added a large Tetra filter for collection of detritus. Next week I will be adding some biomedia to it to make biofiltration more stable. This will be a fun project. Full tank shots next week.
