Vortex Freedom vs. Vortex XL - difference ?

Hi,

I'm planing to buy Vortex Diatom Filter. I wonder what is a difference between Vortex Freedom and Vortex XL. Which one will be better for me ?

Two more questions:
1. There is anything else that I shoud buy extra (other media filter ect.) ?

2. For what is a Powder Filter, should I use it or maybe a regular Bag Filter will be enought for me ?

Vortex Xl holds about twice the media. Also has a doubled flow rate. I highly recommend ordering shaft seal lubricant and the p31 special motor oil for the pump. Also some super char is a nice addition. The DE can be purchased extremely cheap at pool stores.
