tell me something about the hybrid rtc... mine is growing kind of slow.. when i first got it, it was only 4 inches long and now only 5 after 1 month but 2 of my waling catfish use to only be 2 inches now at 6 inches... all aquired at the same time.

P.S. Hot!!!

I digress from this pressing matter though. The Dempsey would do better in the 55 hex than the Oscar and if you have no other tanks and would like to keep the Dempsey more than the Oscar than do it! :)

that sucks man... you probably need to rehome the oscar if you can't get another setup. Or hit craigslist and find yourself a tank. There seems to be an infinite number of tanks on there, try and find a deal on a 75 gal for the time being (or even a 55 long as a short term solution). Sell something on CL/eBay for money (such as that 55 hex, I don't get what a person is supposed to house in there anyway)... thats how I got through college with my crew (turtles/fish) lol

Well, I already work 30+ hours a week and am about to get hired at the hospital as a phlebotomist. The wife just won't let me have any money at all. But even if I did manage to talk her into it, I have no idea how to actually employ the ideas I was given to stop my tank from twisting. It's not my house, so I can't replace the floor or drill into the walls. So even if I had another 125g, it would just twist and pop again.

The 75g is in the basement and I can't get a 125 down there due to the halls and stairs...and the 75 is full of catfish.

To everybody who was helpful, thanks. I think I may put the footwork into finding a permanent and suitable new home for my Oscar. Preferably a large peruvian biotope or something similar.

Could you get a cheap rubermaid or plastic trash can you could keep the Oscar in if you already have filtration then this could be a cheaper alternative. I know it won't be very pretty but you will at least be able to keep the Oscar safe and not feel bad about getting rid of it.

OK, ok, so at this point I was actually feeling bad about your situation and maybe I can inject some thoughtful advice like running plywood on the floor to give a greater foot print. I can understand how women actually will go against your hobbies so I cannot fault her for not "giving you money".
