Vulture catfish

I too wondered about them, specifically their rep, I know the basics, but as stated by TBTB I've never read anything bad other than feeding behaviors being aggressive and setting them off to eat or attempt to eat a tankmate. What's their reputation like that is claimed to be so bad? Personally I'd treat them like a larger bolt or blochii, or most medium sized cats. Semi-aggressive, more predatory, and larger, but tankmates and water conditions etc would be similar. And do they have the potential to reach 2'? I think biggest pictured I'd seen was 20" though I haven't really done any digging or research on vulture cats...

Pretty decent with tankmates. Can safely add with larger predatory fish. Never heard too many aggression issues with vultures except feeding time. I think just a bad rep.

I think ur right moe214 moe214 biggest I seen was ~20inches as well. That was years ago and probably an old fish.

I do know someone who kept a large specimen with a large Marbled Stingray, went away for the weekend and when he got home the Vulture had torn up the ray pretty bad. Figures because it wasnt fed for that weekend, so they can be destructive. Something to keep in mind.
