Do I have to drill the bottom of my tank in order to use a W/D?

Got any pics/plans?

I'm new to this also but I believe you can make an upside-down J-like fitting that acts like a siphon. you need to suck on it and prime it but ones its going, its continuous and going to keep sucking water until either the waterline is too low to collect, or the sump is level with the tank (which will never happen)

But wait for an experts opinion.

There's both types, drilled and HOB Overflows.

If you can drill the bottom that is the Very best way, no anoying gargaling like in the overflows, the water just flows right into the WD...

Personly i like drilling the botom but sometimes thats iffy, some manufactures make the bottom pane out of temperd glass, and you will findout quickly if thats the case...

A simple ball valve will eliminate the gurgle, or there is a couple of DIY PVC plans I've seen to eliminate it.

BTW, it was mentioned above that you can use a siphon, which is true to a certain extent, but a regular loop over the tank going to a sump will either flood your house or burn your pump up. You just can't match the flow rates that way.

cpr overflows are really good and with a vacuum pump attached you won't have a problem.....look online you can get them cheap

I have a 125 and want to go this route. How risky is it to drill 1/2" glass? I'm not sure if its tempered or not. What tools are recommended?
I want to clean up the tank as much as possible. Dont like all the pipes hanging
