What type net did your wife use ?

I ask because I found an area with convict cichlids .

I use the largest fish tank net petwarehouse sells as the nets sold in area fishing place are not small mesh to big. In theory they can't see blue net.
They wont go near the net and the mosquito fish and killies swarm in and eat the bait but the cichlids dont fall for it.

I have posted blue talipis these are what I think are spotted talipia. These were the prettiest specimens in bunch I caught.

Hope to post adult Mozambique talipia eventually which have seen in area (large extended bottom lips).

Ok thanks in my case I have had no luck wih net . Going to try coke bottle type funnel trap this weekend.

I just want to catch one to show how drab looking they are compared to store convicts.

I hope someone here who knows cichlids can say for sure if the pics are mislabeled as I certainly no cichlid expert but some labeled as Miyans look like red terrors to me.

no, red terrors are Cichlasoma festae, a variation of the Green Terror.
