I suspect Rob and I will run in to each other now at one of those listed snakehead areas lol .

Alot of those things are .. Was the fish swimming by when the elctroed the water. The population could have been forced out and moved butt they went back to the same place.

I see what your saying. They "shock" the water to see whats in there and fish could have simply moved on than returned .

hi,
im from nyc, some time i ride a bike in bklyn, there is a park called Prospect Park, I have seen silver aro's an oscar's an huge pacu's there an fresh water sole's... you can easily catch 9lb lg bass.. it's a catch an release only...

I catch round gobies in Lake Michigan all the time. They are considered pests of monumental proportion. Poulation densities of several hundred per square yard in some places. They are from the Ukraine. King salmon, coho salmon, brown trout and steelhead trout are all introduced exotics in the great lakes. These fish are stocked to control alewives-another exotic species. Zebra mussels have spread throughout the entire great lakes watershed. This is why water clarity has increased so dramatically in recent years. The great lakes are permanently invaded by dozens of different exotics. Funny thing is, I don't believe most of them are ornamental fish, like most of yours in Florida. One guy did net a dead northern snakehead though. Asian carp species threaten to enter Lake Michigan from a river system. A multimillion dollar electric barrier was built to try and prevent their entry.

You might as well keep the Oscars and arrowanas you catch there because no way they can survive the frozen winter.

Those are all Spring/summer released fish.

In NY baby pacu are sold in close to all pet stores which is a shame as 99% of buyers have no idea how big they get.

I used to live in Long island
