ha koi are not native, perch are a good option though

Well I like koi option better than native option as you can see the koi very clear than these natives. Maybe golden orfe and albino channel catfish?

dont belive in putting goldfish or koi in a native pond unless there a food source i think it would be neat to have a tiger musky in there its shallow enough you could see him most the year

I think your perch will get eaten pretty quickly. In a pond they probably would not fair too well in that shallow of water anyway, neither would the walleye I think. Always catch em in the deeper water ya know? I would get some gars, maybe some blue cats if you can get any. A sturgeon would be insane if you could get it to work. I wanna know if you try the perch/walleye and make it work though. I'd like to try it.

ill definatly do some experimenting after its doug out even bigger, thinking wipers a few tiger muskie, more walleye, some perch, some more channel cats, and maybe even a few trout oh and definatly some smallies all so put alot of rock piles in it

what? it wont be work in the pond. Trout and Smallmouth bass need coldwater and clean water, same thing with sturgeons. Dont stock the fish right now till you figured out what is SIZE your pond. Pond cannot hold these monster fish in same pond. Wipers need much bigger pond as they are roaming fish, same thing with blue catfish.

its feed by a well from an underground stream so its allways cold, we own like 15 acres like 10 of its field right next to the pond so we got plenty of room for the wipers

I don't mean to be contradictory MN_Rebel but I have caught dozens of wipers in a pond that could not have been 400' long and half that wide. I have caught smallmouth in some of the murkiest river water ever seen so I think that is ok. I do not know about the sturgeon, but I still think it might be able to be pulled off. I mean, all the fish we put into tanks have their natural habitat reduced by oh, a few hundred percent.

i wasnt buying any large quantitys of fish till its dug out and stabilized but i would like to raise a few in my tank before its done so there larger and healther.

How big is this pond going to be? One thing to keep in mind if you get sturgeon don't release sterlets into a native pond. Sterlets are not native to North America, they should never be put into a natural pond, what species of sturgeon would work depends on how big your pond is and where it is located. If you live in a more northern climate and it's a big pond a lake sturgeon could live in it. If it is more southern then shovelnose is about the only one you would want and since they are small you could put several in it. Remember that flat head cats are predators of almost every other fish and will eat quite large prey. To stock a natural pond is more than just adding several fish. I would google pond stocking and go by the numbers they provide at least at first. Once you have a large number of prey fish established you can play with stocking other fish.
