to hell with the kids who love fish, its all about us monster keepers right?
Well said!!
Besides, if they would just look at the overall scheme of things...
there are going to be some fish destine for the unmentionable.

There is a part of our hobby that happens everyday, and those mistakes have to be made. It's just the way it is...

I do not like it as much as the next person, but lets face it, it is a reality...

Is signing an internet petition going to stop this branch of the aquarium business? hell no...IMO

There has to be the starter group, that tries their hand at fishkeeping. The cream will rise to the top and the butter? well let's just say they are the ones who buy the Pacu, flushes countless fish down the toilet, buys all the ich remedies, clear water products, vacation feeders, more fish, rocks, 10 gallon tanks, and those bags of pretty colored florescent gravel, skeleton treasure chest bubblers...

This is where the bread and butter money of the industry is made...without this we can't have what WE want...it's just part of the food chain.

All we can really do is; get in where you fit in, and enjoy your part of the hobby...
IMHO of course...

every walmart that i know but one stopped selling fish, they only sell betas at the one i know

This whole thread just depresses me.

Everyone here complaining about Walmart but they are still shopping there just to save a couple bucks.

I am 27 years old and have not bought anything from Walmart since I was 18, when I realized what they were doing to local businesses.

I could probably save a few hundred bucks a year if I did a lot of my shopping at Walmart but I refuse to do that. If that couple hundred bucks makes that much difference in your life then that sucks and you should probably stop ****ting out kids.

I want a petition for people to just stop shopping at Walmart or any other Walton owned business.

I also want people who work at Walmart to try to educate themselves so they don't have to work at a store like that.

Bla Bla Bla and I suppose you want put an end world hunger and World peace sounds good to you as well, huh?

Look kid, when it comes down to money in this economy, you better save every penny you can when and where you can...

I will save every penny I can, if that includes shopping at WalMart for everything. In a perfect world those Ideals might work, but at that same WalMart I shop at, there are people with signs begging for food...the world isn't perfect, NOBODYS world is perfect...

My life doesn't suck because my head isn't stuffed up my ass so far as to see the big picture. I have lived over half of a century and that's long enough to know what is really going on and it is foolish to have ideals that will get me nowhere...

amen - I quit shopping at walmart PERIOD a few years ago. Bad labor practices, including shafting returning veterans... Dumping healthcare costs on the taxpayer... Cheating employees out of overtime... Deplorable fish conditions are about 17th on the list of why I choose not to support them

I applaud you for the initiative of the petition. Walmart will only take notice if they see that 1700+ people have committed to not buy anything from them (until they change their fish care practices or stop selling fish).

Supporting walmart implicitly supports the bad things they do. Whether ghe toilet paper they sell is a few cents cheaper than the myriad of alternatives or not...

wow, where to start. I'm going to try to not be as condescending as you, but it might be tough.

First instead of spending a lot of time worrying about every penny I spend and every penny I can't save, I'm going to put that effort into my career so when I am your age the thought of shopping at a Walmart to save some money is laughable. truly laughable.

In my world, life is all about making choices and having ideals. So goodluck living in your world but in mine I will stick to my decision to support local businesses and be proud of it. yea, this world is not perfect and I am only one person, but this one person is going to use his brain and his instincts to make decisions and be happy I did.

thank you for your post as it has truly inspired me and amazed me.
