I just got a walking catfish thats about 18" and put him in with my florida gar and silver arrowana which are both a bit bigger than him. I thought he would be kinda lazy and not bother the other fish but he seems active as ever. Had some quick questions about them like should they have a cave to hide in and are they known to be aggresive towards tankmates?

They're just aggressive feeders. They don't care about anything that's in their way. I had 2 in a pond that would just knock the koi away to get to the food. Unfortunately, those 2 were eaten by raccoons  But I just recently acquired a new one and he eats like a monster. He pushes my 9" Oscar to get some food. He's about 6" now. I have PVC pipes for all the fish to hide and play in. I think most fish like hiding places. :grinyes:

wut kinda stuff did u feed ur cat? the LFS guy said he prolly will only eat feeders but im sure i can wean him onto other foods...just not sure wut though.

I give him flake, shrimp , beefliver bloodworm and they really like it, beside mine is about 14"

I feed mine pellets. If you just introduce the pellets in the tank. It'll eventually come up and eat it. They eat anything.

Clarius cats are easy to feed, they love earthworms and a small handful of sinking pellets mixed with a few earthworms will get the pellets recognized as food.

Like everyone else has stated they are an easy fish to feed. I had a breeding pair of C gariepinnus that were absolute monsters. I was feeding large amounts of fish meat, prawn, squid and pellets.
