well i got good and bad news to report, catfish is eating well but now he seems bent on taking over the aquarium and wont leave my Silver Aro alone. He keeps chasing him around the tank and ramming him or trying to bite him. Today is the first ive seen him doing this but he jsut wont stop. My Aro is looking very stressed too so it may be time to give him back to the pet shop. He was picking on a smaller red tail cat in his previous tank but i didnt think he would mess with my aro and gar, oh well he was fun while he lasted. Anyone know if 8" red tail cat would get along better?

They're just aggressive feeders. They don't care about anything that's in their way. I had 2 in a pond that would just knock the koi away to get to the food. Unfortunately, those 2 were eaten by raccoons  But I just recently acquired a new one and he eats like a monster. He pushes my 9" Oscar to get some food. He's about 6" now. I have PVC pipes for all the fish to hide and play in. I think most fish like hiding places. :grinyes:
can you still get those in the states?

I have had a few of these got a albino one at the mo. eats every thing loves worms maggots will eat just about anything!. In the aquarium they are not fussy feeders but fish of some sort should be on the menu but does not necessary need to be live food. also eats a bit a fruit sofened oat (some one told me ages ago they like them) A tight cove is a must as they WALK!!! mine live in a 6 ft with all sorts and are fine but a friend of mine had one of me and it beat the :swear: out of his Oscar!!! mine is in with a 8in yellow tail cat and leaves him alone
