So you turn a blind eye? Is that what I'm reading?

No, but you can only do so much. You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink. What makes you think that by insulting a member and derailing a thread that he will realize what he's doing is wrong? I don't support illegal activies, that is why I posted the regulations sticky but I'm not stupid, I know most of the people who are on this sub-forum own illegal fishes (i.e. black basses). I will inform people what the laws are but beyond that it is their choice on if they obey it or not. He is taking a non-native species out of the wild and putting it in his aquarium...there are worse things a person can do.

I understand your mindset but don't agree totally. I never insulted a member, just told him it was illegal, then backed it up, and in the mean time got insulted myself. People need to realize and be reminded what the regulations are.

Yes, he is taking a non-native species out of the wild. It would be better if he killled it and ate it. So he takes it home, realizes it isn't compatible with his fish or outgrows his tanks, what now? Release the fish back where he got it? Release it some place closer to home? Give it to someone? All of the above is illegal.

So to go back to the original question: No to the walking catfish. Possibly for the bullhead. If your other fish are big enough, they may live. If you have plants (be they fake or real), they will get uprooted. And you will want to quarantine any fish you catch before adding to your existing setup.

Oh come on here. Advice was given to keep a member from getting serious trouble and then called a *** for doing so. The same member that tried to help was then called loser and you say HE derailed the thread??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Lets face it here...the same guys that don't bother to even pick up a 10 page manual and read it sure don't give a crap if another federally listed nuisance fish is put in a new waterway once it's too big for a 10 gallon.

Sorry but this makes no sense at all. Let's recognize the real problem here and not shift the blame.

My first message was directed towards all. I said I did not want any name calling and I did not want the promotion of illegal activities. I will admit, a lot of it was directed towards you Teleost and Drewish as well. Rob is 13 years old, Andrew is 15 (according to their profiles), I'm sorry if I expected a bit more out of the more experianced, mature and older members. Have you ever taught children teleost? I have not but I do know that I if I did I would'nt be calling them "turd burgers".
Now, for the record. I don't want ANY name calling from ANYONE, no matter the age (Teleost and Andrew). I don't want the promotion of illegal activies (Andrew). If you knowingly do preform an illegal activity I don't want to know about it (Rob). And if you are going to try to be helpful and educate the other members do so in a mature, civil manner without using sarcasm and loosing your head (Teleost and Drewish).

Rob, at first I left this thread alone because you were also asking about bullhead (a native species) otherwise I would have moved it to the catfish forum. Walking catfish aren't native to the U.S. They are an invasive species and a serious problem to native wildlife. It is illegal to own them and now you have one. I would suggest you kill the fish but I cannot make you do so but whatever you do please make sure you keep it out of the wild, do not let it go. If you wish to educate yourself on the species you will get a lot more help in the catfish forum on this site then you will here.

If anyone has any further issues take it up with me in private, this thread is LOCKED!
