They caused panic in Florida due to media hype. Aggressivefeeders, tolerant of wide range of water quality, can leave a pond that was poisoned and find another one. Nat. Geographic had an article about them, showed some crossing a wet lawn.

they get 2-3 feet long depending on specie. Fast growers. Most accounts from people who have kept them in aquariums say they are pretty docile. Some people say they are very inactive, remaining like dead logs most of the time, while others have had their clarias swimming about regularly.

A good fish for a large fish community, in a very large tank.

here's a list of the genus, so you can try ID'ing your specie if you want.

here are the things you need to know about them:

they grow big
they like to escape out of your tank
they will eat smaller fish
they're peaceful
they're awesome aquarium fish

done, that's all you need to know.

what size tank have u got?? i wouldnt suggest getting 1 unless uv got at least 100gallons of the wet stuff to put him in.

they get to about 24".

u can hand feed them aswell.

feed it on fish or any meaty foods, just dont kill it by overfeeding coz they wont stop eating and it'll kill ur fishy. they r in no way peaceful. they r cold blooded murderers. that why i love them so!

my clarias is not aggressive, he doesn't bother anyone.

My 6 inch micropeltes chases and bites my 7 inch clarias.

i dont like'em.
mine was cool at first, but then all it would do was just sit there for about 10 hrs, and the 14 hrs swimming in cirlces looking for food. it would hog all the food and the others would be left out hungry...

it started to annoy me so i let it go.

I just bought an albino walking catfish yesterday and it's definately not shy about eating. I have it in with my retail/shovelnose hybrid. Their both pretty small right now and I'm hope they grow quickly so I can put them in with the Big Boyz.
