i'm using 4 of the plant and aquarium bulbs from wal-mart above some tanks now. No complaints. I agree that I doubt you could grow serious aquarium plants with them, but they actually work fine for swords and moss. At $5 each (4' - t-12), it's a pretty cheap way to get a decent amount of light.
