Wallago attu?

Im picking up a catfish tomorrow...called a "knife cat" Looks like a wallago to me though...Any ideas on smaller Wallago-looking cats?

Juvies look the same as adults. However, some places sell Ompok bimaculatus cats as Wallago cats.

if its an Ompok bimaculatus they get to 17" if it a Wallago attu they get huge and grow fast i had one thing could eat but as oddball said Ompoks are sold as them the picture is of a Wallago attu

Yes it's more likely an ompok, wallagos are less common.

I want a wallago

Well I went and got him and it ended up being an ompoc. Was $30 a good deal for a 10 incher? Also, whats the best way to cae for them (food etc) Thanks guys. =)

Congrats on your new cat pickup, Jeox. I've kept both w.attu and ompok... both are great fish! Ompok doesn't grow half as big as wallago, so is much more easier to manage. GL and enjoy!

I always wonder why people ask if a fish price was a good deal. If the fish blows your hair back, who cares what it cost?
