Wallago micropogon

So finally managed to get a pair of these at small size. Any info on aggression, temp, diet would be greatly appreciated. I have a general idea but would love to hear some first hand experience. One thing I noticed they went from a dark mottled color to sold black almost. I will get more photos once they come out a little more.

I have one myself. About 3 inches eats literally anything smelt massivore.

Have you noticed any aggression that they are supposedly known for? Maybe it comes with size? So far they have been very timid and haven’t bothered any other fish.

Mines in a solo set up for now until it gets bigger. I never trust catfish. Especially with these big mouths lol mine is shy but when I come up to the tank it swims up begging for food I seriously feed that thing like 3 to 4 times a day. I enjoy it. It looks like its smiling lol

Not sure if it would be called aggressive. Just overly hungry. It followed a feeder around until it came close enough for the catfish to strike. Wasn’t aggressively chasing it and wasn’t an aggressive strike. More of a slow follow until an ambush opportunity came up.

Like troy1015 said, always looking for food. Eats a lot, digests quickly, and quickly learns shadows means food. Mines eats until the belly so stretched you can see the eyeballs of the feeders in his stomach.

i wouldn’t trust it with anything smaller than its mouth. It could come down to personality though. Wouldn’t trust mine personally.

from what i gather doesn't seem to be much difference and they are often confused maybe someone else can chime in.

This one I’m iffy about myself but I plan on doing so reading after work about these 2 fish. Not much out there on these to begin with.
