Pool filter sand about $6.99 per 50lbs bag unless you want to keep it black. I have not seen black pool filter sand but someone else may know of where to get some.

if you want black just get a bag of 3m color quartz.. find a supplier from the 3m website

i get it for 20 bucks for 50 lb bag here... its a little more than pool filter sand, but looks killer and is super easy to clean.. its a heavier sand so it doesn't really get kicked up too much..

Really so you can use pool filter sand?? huh wish i knew that before i bought my marine sand

lol if you search the forums there was a guy who tried the home depot sand which worked for him but then someone else followed his advice and tried it in his tank and it was a disaster

put home depot sand in the search forums and it can give you some ideas but i dont know how it will be in your tank but whatever you choose hopefully you like it

Pool filter sand from Leslie's pool supply is awesome. I have it in all of my tanks except for one.

SO another part to the question....when I do add the sand probably goin with pool filter just cuz its cheap and easy to get...how long does it take for it to settle enough to put my fish back in? or is there a way to minimize the sand stir up when I replace my gravel?
