I currently have two GTs and a axolotl (caudate, very similar to all aquatic salamander) and have really taken an interst in Arowanas. I have a 30 in long, about 12 in up and 14 or so in wide. Im not sure how many gallons it is (if you think you know let me know!!), but I want to possibly put my GTs in there and move my axolotl into my 15g tank.

Onto the arowana Q. So my LFS has 2 silvers both of which are $80.00. Looking on here has led me to want a jardini possibly, but my LFS has a 6-8 inch silver with amazing reddish patterns all over his fins. It really amazed me how good looking he/she was. So my question is,

1. Can this arow live with two 3-4 inch GT in the 30 long?

2. I think the arow is over priced, am i correct with this assumption?

3. How soon would I have to upgrade tanks for my arow if I got rid of the GT? How big?

You will have to move it out of the 30 within about 2 months, they grow stupidly fast. GTs may or may not be fine depending on aggression.

Good to move the Axie too, they like cooler water than the fish.

Of course axie will never be with any of these fish. How big of tank will i need to upgrade to for the arow?

That's about 20g. IMO the minimum tank size for an adult aro is 150g, but a lot of people say you need at least a 300g.

The minimum would be a 180, but ideally something that had a 3'x8' footprint. Mine outgrew a 90 within a year.

damn so you think a 8 inch arrow will be about how big in a year? Also, is that price steep?

It's an average price in the Toronto area, and in a year maybe 18"?

I am Maryland, USA by the way.

20 bucks for an 8" Silver? Cheapest I've seen for that size is 49.99.
