Have you ever driven a Toyota? Or know anything about them? :) Nothing wrong with loving Jeeps, but bashing everything else just because 'zomg jeeeps are kool!!!!11" doesn't really have any credibility!

A jeep with the straight-6 not that piece of junk minivan engine they are coming with now a days. The ease of finding parts will make it more enjoyable and easier to persalize - think of them as the ar-15 of 4x4s.

I just think theyre beast all around they look mean as hell with 33" swampers and a 6" lift

If your all for the toyota then y ask? thats what you obviously want so just get that...

how much money you going to drop? because you should go in this direction if you want to get serious

I own a manual land rover discovery myself and it's great on the trails. lower windshield to reduce glare and like no blind spots at all.

just throwing out different vehicles you might not have thought of.

If i had to pick from what you asked though i would say the yota all the way... jeeps are a dime a dozen...

We use a Toyota 4Runner for fieldwork at Meadowview. We can carry all of our equipment in it and 4 people, comfortably. The AWD is necessary for the terrain we have to navigate; bogs, rundown trails, rocky areas, old abandoned roadbeds, and flooded areas. It's incredibly reliable and I've never felt like it's going to flip over. Since Land Cruisers are a more serious version I'd get that.

The 4.0 L is argumentatively one of the best offroading engines ever made. It's practically bullet proof and it's one of the main reasons Chrysler bought AMC. That and they wanted the ZJ Grand Cherokee design.

Jeep is cheaper parts because they are more common. Ask urself why that is...

It is an outstanding off roader esp if u throw a hemi in it(of course nothing wrong with the six). A off road monster can be built on almost any budget and for good reason. IMHO the jeep is by far the clear cut winner here by far. Its not even close. And if u got a ton of cash to drop(like doing the toyota would cost u) and dont want a jeep get a H1. Again far superior imo than the toyota and depending on what kind of off roading maybe the jeep. That would help decide. What kind of off roading we talking?
