Honestly, it doesn't matter. A solid axle yoda is a perfectly capable rig. A little on the heavy side compared to a jeep, but still capable. Building a truck is a slippery slope. You start out with a lift, tires, and maybe a few engine mods... next thing you know, you are having a hard time finding stock parts on your truck. It doesn't really matter where you start, as long as it is done right. Mine is more Currie/ rough country than jeep. For trail riding, the jeep is the better option. It is smaller, lighter, and more maneuverable. It will get into tighter spaces without ripping the mirrors off.
Some could argue that a yoda could have less failures. Most failures come from neglect, not engineering flaws. They will be equally reliable if properly built and maintained. Any aftermarket part can break on either rig. A Jeep is going to be cheaper to build. A yoda will be more comfortable and will have more interior space. Gas milage is irrelevant on large mud tires. Personally, I would go with the Jeep. But thats just me. :)

Too bad you don't live in PA.. The Faulkner Honda dealership just got a Land Crusier in as a trade and it's immaculate.

@ neoprodigy, that is not a truck thats a rednecks dream carriage!! I luv it!!

I drive a '98 landcruiser with over 230,000 miles on it. So far it has survived dozens of road trips to hockey tournaments, me learning to drive, and being a daily driver for the past 12 years. Even with its age, mileage, and the fact that it is all stock I still feel comfortable taking it into sandpits, driving through a blizzard, or bombing down an old logging road in it. To be honest in the 3 years I've had it I've beat the crap out of it, but it still runs like the day I got it. While jeeps are admittedly fun, when I go camping up north I never see them, that's because the local know that a jeep would not last in those conditions in the long run. Besides everyone I know that drives a jeep is a chick. Needless to say I vote Landcruiser.
