is your gar a "real" alligator gar or was it just another gar labeled as a gator gar (fish stores tend to do this quite often)? if it really is a gator gar you should be more worried about what you are going to do with it in the future rather than what you are going to put with it. judging by the tankmates though i will assume it is not an alligator gar.
