Looking forward to the pictures, if your open to add fish other than cichlids there are quite a bit of dither options open to you. It could also take some of the Jag's aggression away from your cichlids. You could add silver dollars or giant danios (which would be eaten as the jags grow).
hey np im glad to help and i agree with Citrinellus about adding some dithers to the tank, it would help spread the aggression around, and yes jags will def get larger than 12in (i think someone on here has one that is 18in!!), i haven't had one so not exactly sure on the growth rate but i would guess a foot within the first year and then growth would slow considerably after this, someone else with more jag experience should chime in with this though

I agree with Sarah on the aggression issues when keeping pairs. If you want different species cichlid tank mates, you will have better success with males only. A breeding pair of jags in that size tank will eventually kill off all other tank mates as they grow. If they don't, they will surely look worst for wear all the time. A male managuensis will not max out at 12". It is common to at least 15". I have seen many females attain 14". My last male was on 17" and my current guy is at 15"+ and I can tell you they would need every bit of that 125g to themselves. Personally, I feel you will end up with that tank devoted to just the jag pair.;)
I agree with you about the post count. No matter how high, we are always learning. Luckily there is always something new to learn.

Thanks for everyones input. I really thought I knew what I was doing here, glad I figured this out before it was too late and added more fish.

well its not overstocked right now because they are all young but when those jags reach 16in then they will need the tank to themselves, if they dont kill off your other tankmates then it will probably work since the tank is 6ft and i dont really see them bothering the eel since he is much larger than them already, but just be ready to take the other fish out if the jags pick on them too much, a breeding pair of jags can be quite brutal, however if you took out one of the jags then you cold probably add 1-2 more 10in growing cichlids its just that a breeding pair really narrows your choice of tankmates GOOD LUCK and lets see some PICS!!

I got my dslr back and I'm taking the pics now.

you have all that in a 125 gallon tank.
i have a single 12" barred citrinellum in a 125 gallon tank
and i'm almost 100% that even a 125 gallon is to small for my mang.
if you upgrade your tank by a like maybe 100 gallon you might be able
to add another cichlid, for now, i think it would be in your best interest
to lower your stock and then maybe add some smaller fish, non-cichlid species.
silver dollars are sick!

if you do get a bigger tank, i'd always take into consideration that you could add a barred citrinellus ;D

a pair of jags are beautiful in a 125, but personally i would add 6 silver dollars just for movement and to give the jags something to play with
