I really think that it is unnecessary for the jokes. I mean come on, collecting old coins is also a hobby and its not any different from us seeking out a rare fish. It is their passion to collect coins, so let them do whatever and we should stop derailing this thread. I also understand that this website isn't the right place to buy old coins, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Sounds like an infomercial! :D :ROFL::ROFL:

At least the jokes are bumping it up to the top, thus giving it more of an opportunity to be viewed?? Suppose it's all in how you look at it.

In addition, just because there are jokes made doesn't mean that some of us don't collect or know anything about the hobby also...

<---Collect. Hence my first viewing the posting...:)

Dude..... My point is, give the guy a break. Let him do what he wants.

"Dude"...
lol, SO not a dude.

And nobody is bashing him for posting it?? We're just having a little fun with the posting. Calm down killer...

lol thanks for all the free bumps guys. I know I don't post much here, but I do read alot of the information here. I hope one day to be able to have a tank with some big fish (largemouth bass in particular), but I do not have the time, money, or space right now. I just think it would be awesome to have a tank with a some 20"+ bass in it.

hey, how much are the quarters with the drummer on back worth? i'm guessing they aren't worth much...since there are quite a few out there, but it couldn't hurt to ask.

Just want to give him some free bumps. Here's a good one for the numismatist crowd. When I was a kid my grandpa drove a road grader for a living and also had a dump truck and loader. He sold gravel for a living. I use to climb on his gravel pile for fun. One day I got to the top and found what looked like a coin. We washed it off with coke and it turned out to be an 1879 nickel. I still have it. What are the odds?

I'll give you $20, and that's my final offer

i dont know much about coins, but if its worth $100 os something like that, i'd offer something in the $50 range ;)

anyhow, just curious, define "old" and are you only looking for stuff in good shape?
i'm in my early 20s, so to me a nickle from the 40s or 50s is old :grinno: and i'm sure i could come up with some (my grandparents are hoarders) but i probably couldnt get any that are in perfect shape
however, i think all my little cousins have thos books filled with the state coins, i can probably bribe them into selling them for $10 or so :naughty:
