want to do my first saltwater tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Iam familiar with the eclipse systems and the biggest problem with them is they are difficult to add equipment to. It will limit what you can do in terms of stocking but if you stock lightly and do frequent water changes you will be fine. Also the lights aren't appropriate for most corals. Mushrooms and button polyps will work though.

is there any puffer, trigger, eel, or something along those lines that can live in a 37g? I've been looking around but nothing great yet

i'd say no to triggers in general in such a small tank.

eels can generally do smaller tanks compared to their size but even factoring that in, a 2ft eel just isn't going to be comfortable in such a small tank. there may be some smaller less common species i'm not that familiar with but i'd say prly not considering morays are usually what's available.

as for puffer's you could prly do one of the smaller tobies but definately a big NO if your looking at dogface types or porcupines

yeah i know as i stated above i dont have room for porcs, dog-faces, or humu triggers

i thought maybe there was a smaller species not known to me that would be comfortable in my tank

and relax thecanuck im here to learn

like i said look into the tobies, they're about the only thing i could recomend for that tank, and even i wouldn't say all of them would be good fits

im not into salt water and even i know the white moray i think could stay in that tank for a good amount of time assuming ull upgrade.. :D
