My post was just to let you know your 37 gallon stocking wont fit your wants if your already thinking triggers and puffers. If i was you i would do a small snowflake, and upgrade when needed. Maybe even a small dwarf lion and a snowflake, but get them really small.

Yeah i know if i cant then its nbd. And i'm not sure if i made this clear but i was planning on getting a juvy no matter what i decide on if anything.
Do you know the growth rate on humu triggers? I've heard mixed results.

I would say about 6-9 years depending on how much you fed him. You could power feed him and get him to 5 inches in a year or two. Then it would take a long time to get past the 5 inch mark and growth decreases dramatically. He could live in the 37 gallon for life, his life span and growth would depend totally on you. Feeding habbits, quality of food, quality of water. Then if you add another fish, then no at 4-5 inches thats when i would upgrade. Your % of him tearing some **** up is decently high with a trigger that big in a smaller tank. So basically there are so many different factors that could lenghten or shorten the time in the 37 gallon. I think if you kept him alone for life and fed him once a day decent meals, he could live forever in the 37g. Although i know thats not going to happen, your going to get a bigger tank and more fish I know i would
I would personally go live sand, aragonite pissed me off. It sticks to the fish forever and is just so much more messy. 30lbs.
Live rock % will depend on your filtration. You can have zero live rock but you need to have some extra bio packed away. If you don't have gallon/lb then i suggest making sure you get the whole 30lbs-37lbs of sand. Sand really helps with your params all the way across the chart. Otherwise make sure you have adequate bio media in filters.
As far as a clean up crew? Well there are types you can and cant have. Snails and hermits are history, and would make a good meal. You will now need a clean up crew that can defend its self a little. Urchins, sea hares, serpent stars, gobies. Your going to have to get trigger proof things.
