Couldnt we just make the myth that you can't have large aquariums in apartments because of the danger of them falling throught the floor. Then you just get myth buster to test ever increasingly large aqaurium on a structure made to apartment building codes with supporting walls as far apart as you would see in a typical common area of an apartment as that's the most likely place for a large aqaurium. They just keep increasing the size of the aquarium until they find one that will go through the floor. That would be cool to see. Start with say a 250 gal and go up from there and if standard dimensions don't do it once you get to 1500 gals then just make it taller. Maybe you are planning a wall tank and it will be 7' tall 14' long and 6' wide. That might just be enough to make your floor give way. I just want to see how big of an aquarium it would take to make a floor fail. lol

the questions still remains HAS ANYTHING BEEN SAID TO WEATHER THEY LIKE THE MYTH OR NOT b/c it has been posted on there site

someone rushed a head and posted the original myth posted here and the mythbusters crew could tell it was BS right away.

so I think this attempt is futile even though it would be cool to see on TV...

I dont think he can move the 1000G easily, even I have trouble of moving a 120G from the garage to the basement alone..

7" L x 4" W x 5" H = a little well over 1000G

At that size it should be fine to fit into a frieght elevator, but I doubt he can get it in by himself, and a fully glass tank is more than his own weight.

As for moving into an apartment, its very possible. There are million dollars worth condo (3000sq ft +) have double doors, so moving into one is not the problem.

Its very possible that the tank is gonna fall (8000+ pounds), its really depend on how and where he place the tank and the apartment's structure. I dont think the thin layer of concrete can hold that much weight. As the tank fall, it will shatter as it fall thru the first/second floor

I agree who ever put it on there first ruined it and they all told him it was BS

So what's keeping you from posting it again... and again..... and again???

It would be stupid to bring in fish tank after fish tank. They get one big tank in the test space and just keep filling it until the floor breaks if it does at all.

if its a new building with no other residents... why would he choose the 4th floor? lollz

this myth isnt gunna work, you can figure how much a floor can hold by how its constructed, theres no myth here felllas.

what they could do is bust the myth that pirahnas are vicious ruthless killing machines.

kinda like the goldfish 3 second memory thing.
