I agree, make it a nice mini forest with small pieces of driftwood and get some shrimp in there, maybe some smaller fish as well..

pygmy cories are lots of fun, and they use the whole tank, not just the bottom. could probably fit 7 or 8 in there with the pleco without any problems.

Edit: or you can use sand and gravel together. I think that would look very nice.

make it a planted tank with sand substrate, 6 celestial pearl danios (they are one of the smaller danios and look amazing in planted tanks) and 5 pygmy cories. That may be really pushing it, but with good filtration and water changes I think it would work

ya i had 3 iin a 20g once.. they just killed eachother

Oh really? My girlfriend have 4 in her 10g and they're living fine with each other. I think its because they are in even numbers, so one won't be constantly picked on by the other 2.
