The pool is 17 feet long 10 wide and 4feet deep those were the footprint sizes and the guy told me he built it to that size on the nose

Ok - first off, that's not 1200 gallons - it's more like 5,000. Second - it's certainly not large enough to keep even full grown Nurse. Although - you could like keep one to about 5' in length in a pond that size. But ultimately you would still need a larger pond to keep it for life.

um.....if moneys no problem why didnt you go big to begin with?

Yeah it would be a bad idea to put a small pup in a 20,000+ gallon pond. Even a 3 ft Nurse would seem very small compared to a system that large.

Btw - if your interested in starting with a recently born pup - about 9-10" long - there's a place in Michigan that sells captive bred Nurse sharks - Although - they usually only have them in late November - Early January time frame.

I am looking for one from 12-35 inches i have a 1200 gallon pool system.you can contact me at mtthwdates@yahoo.com

They have one for sale in a pet shop called the Pet station. He's about 3 feet long and they want $700 bucks for him. He will probaly go lower cause he's been there a good 8 months. Pet Station is in Dearborn, Mi.

BTW - the shark has been sitting in a 4' x 4' tank this whole time!!!

^^^ How bout some pics of this 5K gallon pool?

Rather than get something that will outgrow your current accomodations,I have two perfect sharks to grow to decent sizes in your pool.

are you looking for a real nurse shark? or a sand tiger shark? (sand tiger sharks are often referred to as nurse sharks also )because that is what they are called in OZ. and that is where they are typically filmed. However they live here also. Same thing with zebra sharks, (called zebra sharks in the US but called leopard sharks in OZ) when they are born they are stripped like zebras but as they age their stripes become spots and they get a leopard print.
Depending on if your looking for a legit nurse shark or a sand tiger will let me know what minimum tank size you need. (nurse sharks have their mouths near the bottom of their head and often eat off the bottom. they have large heads in comparison to the size of their bodies and dont get as large as a sand tiger. sand tigers are basic shark shape and all their teeth are usually showing as they stick out all the time giving the impression of a smile. both are actually pretty docile to swim around however sand tigers look really mean.

tank size for nurse shark I suggest minimum 50,000 gallons
sand tiger I suggest minimum of 100,000 gallons
