Beautiful cat. I am positive it is a TSNxAchara, just, for my eye, with a touch more of Achara in the appearance than the usual looks. This is speaking relatively, that is your fish versus average.

In general (and in your fish too), yes, as Catfish Pownage says, this kind of fish has more of TSN and less of Achara because TSN is the maternal species and Achara is the paternal one, I always assumed.

If you could get better pics with better lighting, we coud try and submit them to be considered for the data/caresheet in the Cat-eLog on Planet Catfish (Chris the "Aquaculture" and I put together that database entry - http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=4430). Having variations demonstrated in photos is always helpful and not just to us but the whole worldwide fish-keeping community.

So good to see you have persevered, rebounded, and are back in force in the hobby, growing out some new catfish. How big is the hybrid now?

Me likey :) I too got one leiarus pictus X tsn hybrid but I sold it away coz it was getting too aggressive :(
Nice and very unique! These are seen so extremely rarely. I think you should repost in its own thread. Didn't you have two a couple years back or am I confusing you with someone? Could it have been UnstoppableJay?

Love that fish in the video, would love one... do they grow learus size or tsn size?

More to the database of leiarus hybrids.. tsnXleiarus 20" ish.. mild tempered, not a very aggressive feeder, active both night and day but seems to prefer the dark.. wont hunt or chase tankmates that would theoretically fit his mouth..
