thats a kick in the teeth knowing the crayfish are legal not long after.. but was you a seller then.. they might have hit you hard thinking you were selling them. not just housing them for personal stock.

I wasn't selling then. 30K was my broodstock plus juvies. I need to get my numbers to 200,000 before I'm ready to sell. The facility is designed to house a maximum of 500,000 (understanding, of course, that the majority of this number consists of larvae and small juvies). I have 40 vats that can each house 150lbs of full-adult crays. That's only 6000-8000 individuals. The rest are housed in rearing trays and raceways.
even if not selling at the time thats alot... how much are you selling the crayfish for.. i liked having a few in my piranha tank.. they do eat them eventaully but some last a while. i just think the more fish they think you have the more hardcore fishkeeper you are the better the bust.. like you said you were losing thousands of dollars of fish.. i would lose about 500 to 1000 dollars in all of my fish. so they wouldnt pull out he big guns to bust me or your average fish keeper.. but they wouldnt look the other way either..
I DONT EVEN KNOW WHY PEOPLE WOULD LET THEM GO, WHY NOT JUST EAT EM. I WOULD NEVER THROW AWAY A BIG FISH, ID EITHER SELL IT OR FIND IT A SUITABLE HOME, OR ID MAKE A DINNER OUT OF IT. SNAKEHEAD IS SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD EATIN, BUT OH WELL PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS DO STUPID ****!!!
