Is your sand crushed? if it is not round then its sharp. I spent $300 on my first batch of sand and it had black crushed granite in it... had to give it away.
post a macro pic of your sand. I use 3m estes medium broadcast sand. I found it at a local paint supply store for $33 for 50 lbs comes in tons of colors too!
