Wanting to add a GAR.. help please

I've never had my gar show any aggression to a fish he couldn't eat. Just make sure the SD are large enough. I've had about every think able tank mate with my gar. He never bothered any.
 
Thanks becon... what about the other way around.. since ill be introducing him into a new established tank.

of course ill switch up the decor. I just want to make sure they are suitable (jag/fla gar).. of course there's no sure bet. but id feel comfortable to know from past xp that they CAN co exist..

again, to all , thx for the advice.
 
depend on how big is the gar you're gonna get, the jag and Oscar can kill gar 2X their length so I'd say it is not a good idea unless you want to try your luck.
 
don't do it. gar, jag and oscars are a terrible combo, learned from my own foolish firsthand experience back when I first started out.
 
i plan on moving the oscar... so itll just be the gar jag and a GT.. my jag isnt too aggressive either , the jag and oscar do not get along though

think thatll work?
 
Seem like you wanted to go with gar/jag combo really bad :D
There is a youtube video showing a gar enjoy its snack/meal...and it's a Jag! :D

still no. bad combo all round. sorry, i know that's not what you'd like to hear but ime the gar would be unnecessarily stressed out. i had a 9" (initially unaggressive) jag bully 2 24" cubans. so there you go
