ehh
some people may worry about what may happen in the future.
but i can guarantee what ever horrible result that may happen from our mistakes wont happen in my or my childrens or even my childrens childrens lifetime. and by the time it does happen. i wil be dead and will have no emotional attachement to my great great grandchildren.

and for those of you that are religous.
there is an omnicient omnipotent being that is going to pull mass numbers of people off this planet before the end is near. and frankly i havent noiced many people dissapearing lately so i guess we are fine.(for a while anyways)

I have faith in a higher power. Thats how i guarantee it.
besides nothing lasts forever.if the world overheats tomorrow and every one dies. i dont care cause ill be in heaven sipping gin and juice with Jesus.

Since volcanoes cool the earth. Yellowstone will make everything all normal again maybe.

you obviously have faith in science.

and god provides answers not just evidence
hearing and understanding the answers is the hard part.

lets not take this issue farther
cause personally i dont care.
just one final question
when the world ends and we are both dead. which one of us will be happier me or you?

Hey 2+2=4 is man-made as well, just as all science are human interpretations that are the fundamental results of our dna that allows the body to digest the food, respire, and in turn use that energy to think and come up with these conclusions. Granted what I think separates man from other life forms is the ability to make independent decisions and the concept of free will (which is why most people need alcohol to let loose their their animal instincts)

If you think about it we did not invent the circle, the square, or e^x.. they existed for forever as far as we know and we just decided to label them such and such. I think it needs to be clear that man did not invent the laws of physics we just interpret, manipulate, and take advantage of them.

wow sorry i started this i was bored:nilly: :nilly: :nilly:
trying to find something to be unhappy about
Ok
for the record,
I have a background in science/medicine and can actually be pretty pragmatic
but
actually have faith in a supreme being/divine plan but that free will makes us somewhat responsible perhaps not for all that happens but for how we respond to it
I do not belong to any religion, i call myself pagan for want of a better description, more because i've found "religion" to be more a way of establishing rules and not personal/spiritual growth although "all rivers lead to the ocean"
for now anyway

OMG
anyone remember the movie the lorax?

I think that yes things happen in cycles, and that over ages things work out or don't no matter what we want or do
However, if i actually had children who would have to live in this mess people are making?
I'd be blowing **** up or standing on the whitehouse lawn screaming

I guess what interests me is that stuff like abortion which is a right/wrong moral issue, generates all kinds of passion
it's a life how dare you etc
on the other hand,
the basic certainty that things are going to get bad and LOTS of people are going to suffer and die seems to just kinda be background noise

Yes I think what will be will be and mass extinctions are actually normal

but the phrase from lord of the rings

'and the glory of the world was less than it was'
I think is what engages me in this emotionally

ok and cold blooded curiosity as to what makes people tick or pushes their buttons

I guess every one has a little bit of parinoia in them. The world is gonna end, global warming will kill us all, will I lose my job and so forth. Mine is that damn ceiling cat :(

thats not completely true, the world isnt going to end, jsut start a new chapter in its history.

not all of us will die either, just a whole lot of us.

the people that live at or near the equator will most likely be unharmed.
