wow sorry i started this i was bored
trying to find something to be unhappy about
Ok
for the record,
I have a background in science/medicine and can actually be pretty pragmatic
but
actually have faith in a supreme being/divine plan but that free will makes us somewhat responsible perhaps not for all that happens but for how we respond to it
I do not belong to any religion, i call myself pagan for want of a better description, more because i've found "religion" to be more a way of establishing rules and not personal/spiritual growth although "all rivers lead to the ocean"
for now anyway
OMG
anyone remember the movie the lorax?
I think that yes things happen in cycles, and that over ages things work out or don't no matter what we want or do
However, if i actually had children who would have to live in this mess people are making?
I'd be blowing **** up or standing on the whitehouse lawn screaming
I guess what interests me is that stuff like abortion which is a right/wrong moral issue, generates all kinds of passion
it's a life how dare you etc
on the other hand,
the basic certainty that things are going to get bad and LOTS of people are going to suffer and die seems to just kinda be background noise
Yes I think what will be will be and mass extinctions are actually normal
but the phrase from lord of the rings
'and the glory of the world was less than it was'
I think is what engages me in this emotionally
ok and cold blooded curiosity as to what makes people tick or pushes their buttons
