It happens I had 3 silvers, jar, and 2 midas in together for 1.5 years then all of a sudden one night 2 silvers started fighting and all hell broke loose everyone started fighting. Good thing you caught it early.

have u put any new fizh in the tank lately? believe it or not sometimes 1 new fizh in a comm. tank can disrupt da whole balance of the community and someone goes berzerk next thing u know everything is disrupted.
