warmouth

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Correct! Ummm I would try a bluegill, longear, pumpkinseed, umm a green would do good for a while...eventually would outgrow it though. I am going to have 3 dollar sunfish in my 29 gal.

so for a 30 gallon would you recomend a warmouth, shadow bass, or rock bass?

I would not recommend you house any of those fish in a 30g. Rock Bass are large, up to a foot long and the same is true for warmouth. Shadow bass aren't much smaller. I would suggest a 40g for a shadow and 55g of one of those other two0 species.

As for warmouth care. Check this out.

Man I want a warmouth sooo bad, (but I only have room for one tank and I have 2 green sunnies in it!). I would definately get a 55 gallon tank for warmouth.

My warmouth which i bought about a year ago, at about 3" is just now to about 5 or 6, The shadow bass i have i got at the same time roughly, is now also about the same size, They are both in a 75 with a couple of longears, a couple of small punkinseeds, and a leopard centopoma, these fish all cohabit great, very little or no aggression from anyone, and ive enjoyed them for a year so far. I dont subscribe to the theory that you cant have a fish, because your current tank is too small. If they are small when you get them, they grow up together, it will work and ive had a year so far to worry about a bigger tank if i choose to get one.

what do the warmouths cost, i have a 3 acre pond that i've been tryin my best to get them out of, they have a way of taking over ponds, the small ones are easy to net, about 1 1/2"or 2"
