10-12 person
1 medic
3 CQC personel armed with M9s
2 marksman, one with long range rifle and spotter carrying M4
2 heavy gunners carrying M249s, or 60s. 249s are however ALOT lighter!
3 personnel carrying M4s trained in urban combat
1 pack mule for food and supplies armed with M9
my goal is pack light and keep moving. help survivors along the way but not to bring along. im in the military so i think tactics and practical situations.

meh moving is gonna get you killed.
stationary with proper set ups is where its at. a few hundred acres for farming. surround it by a large fence(razor wire in front) should provide basic support while a wall built of wood and compressed soil is made behind it. concrete is also a idea but that is better used making building. A few people with simple .22s can maintain the fence. zombie is close shoot it in the head. u can have hundreds of .22s for cheap, and take up little room. a well placed .22 will severe the spinal column thus killing said zombie. and a 10/22 can carry large mags. ideal area should be close to a road(use it as a break and for transport) with a spring fed pond(or stream but pond better) with the spring within ur fence, be within a resonable driving distance to somewhere your able to gather building supplys but not too close to a large civilization.

for firearms, 7.62x39 and .223 should stay with thier respective rifles(i mean ar's and ak's). those should be used for scout teams for supplys. larger bolt action rifles hunting only. shotguns are for within compound and hunting only at well. possibly for the scouting teams as well.

.22 is also a quieter caliber, so you wont draw more zombies in from surrounding areas.
