I have always wondered how a weapon stripped to bare bones would fire? if you could actually be accurate with it.

Can't imagine being in the middle of field stripping to clean and maintain be caught without it at the ready, which is why I always wondered what it would be like to fire it in a semi assembled state.

if you really needed to fire it like that you can. you just dont hold the barrel and you will most likely get one shot. the piston wont cycle all the way ill assume and the gases will blow in your face.

How well does that Tapco handguard fit? I was thinking about buying one of those for my AK74 with the picatinny rails on it. I've heard mixed reviews on them.

its snug and all but the top of mine is not lined up with the bottom. i didnt read anyone else having that problem. ill see if i can re do that. probably my error. i couldnt close the gas tube latch at all so i shaved off 2 little dots of plastic on the top piece. the dots were located on the bottom side of the top piece.

also mine has a loose rail guard that doesnt lock. you can "lock" it but you can pull it off without pulling the tab.

also you can still use the standard sights with the guard on as the top rail has a clear path

Nice AK, a friend of mine Russia owns an AK-74M aswell as varius pistols etc.

My fave is the M16A2 and the colt canada C8 carbine.

My ak needs surgery. Need s an american muzzle break, I got a threaded barrel, and needs opened to accept double stack clips. Need a double stack clip first. Lol
