Tbh I have no problems paying the price for a fish that helps keep the store afloat. I often swap or buy from local people regarding plants and some livestock to fit my budget
Same here Hendre Hendre I've paid what many would consider too much for fish from a fish store because I liked the fish, I liked the store, and I'd have paid as much if I had the fish shipped without the luxury of getting to see it first. Trading fish is always nice too. When I was heavy into breeding I'd often trade several young fish for a fish or plants I wanted. Worked for me!

I recieved over $50 of plants and fertilizers shipped free from a friend, it was amazing. Anyway I like making friends with shop owners

^ Making friends with the store owner is always a good idea...

Especially since i never need to ask for a discount at stores i goto often, they normally offer it up for free if they know im really interested in a certain fish or product..,

This is the best way to do it. More honest.

Has the OP disappeared? I'm really wondering what kind of fish it actually was. I could see a shady LFS selling a Melanura or Synspilum as a "rainbow cichlid" to someone who didn't know any better. I wonder how big this fish he bought is?

He started a new thread, wonder why? lol They posted a pic, the fish is a sub adult P. electra.
