Was this a good deal?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
if you fully expect it to die, put it down yourself. Don't let it suffer at the hands of a jag (or jaws)

still, this is the last resort

Better to put it out of its misery than to let it suffer. As for your plans, I think you've been a little premature. Taking a severely overstocked tank with plans to upgrade to a 125 which you do not own and which will need to be cycled. The pacu will outgrow your 125 as well.

I suggest you hit up a LFS near you with you stock list and see what they'll take off your hands. If you're lucky they'll give you some store credit. As it stands, that tank is heading nowhere but down.

Finally, that tank is anything but natural, so eliminating the pacu by "letting nature take its course" fails delightfully.

In my honest opinion that's not a real good deal. Then again I won't even take 29g tanks for free, I hate them. I had a whole ton at one time because I was getting them for 10-15 bucks a piece.

You also got fish you probably won't be able to house practically pawned off on you. Oops.

cost probably too much if you're asking us if you got a good deal, haha. it's not a bad deal and not a good one, IMO. i actually prefer 20longs to 29's and would never own a 29 again.

if i were you, i would give your friend an ultimatum on the pacu. if he can't take it back in a short amount of time, take it to your LFS for some credit or something.

hope you get that 125 set up pretty quickly, but, IMO, you should be okay for a little while as long as you keep up on the water changes.

Keep the convict in the 29...Give him a female to breed with....The rest of the fish got to go before their spines start bending due to the lack of swim room...
