what size is your tank? don't listen to P45 he likes picking on the new guys this really should not be in the introduce but oh well... is this your first tank? do you like arrowana or is it just because a lot of us do? usually a cichlid tank of the african variety is a good starter especially the mbuna but that is just me! if you look around you can get a lot of good info just looking at others threads and feel free to ask more questions as a couple of us actually like to give help not like P...

I think you should get a tank first, then filter/pumps, then lights, then substrate...wait a month, and if you still want to keep fish, then try something that won't hurt your pocket book when it dies....

I agree with Peanut power, aros are not the best beginners fish, the first thing you need to do is decide what size tank you are getting.
