wat to feed my snakehead?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
really? im also not too sure of the breed.
but it does really matter, i still like them alot. =)
jus curious if they are shy as mine likes to hide around unless they are hungry and will come out to hunt fishes.
its really interesting to see the snakehead and the stonefish hunt down their prey.
if possible, u guys should try to get the freshwater stone fish.
most of the time it will lie around and when hungry will slowly stalk down its prey.
something like snakehead but of cos snakehead are much faster. =)=)

ummm no milkman his do not have 3 dots. Phen_dox is the one who posted up the pics of the pleuros (the first set of pics). His has one spot on its tale.

Engima good luck with that snakehead, don't forget to post pics up from time to time. The maruliodes will get quite large. I remember reading somewhere that the largest one ever caught was 72 inches or something. thats like 6 feet. doesn't sound believable to me but imagine having a channa that big

pleuro not a shy fish.. pleuro is an active swimmer and don't scare to anything.. :headbang2 :headbang2

starve them for few days and they'll accept any food that you put in the tank.. :)

hi all, i got a 2inch channa pleurophtlhalma but it doesnt seem to eat wat i put in. tried frozen blood worms, pellets and small feeder fishes.
wat should i do? feed it live bloodworms or try feeder catfishes?
Try finely chopped earthworms. The bits wriggle, they are cheap (or free) and unlike feeder fish WON'T introduce disease to your fish which could = death (a.k.a. zero growth rate, decomposition) I have used a combination of earthworms, chopped and whole with prawns and fillets of trout for years with snakeheads, big catfish and cichlids and had tremendous growth rates.
