What else do you feed? Any big cat's diet really should consist of either massivore or the like....but preferably raw fish, shrimp, cockles, ect. Would be best. You can still give them a varied diet of raw...thats the healthiest bet IMO.

I started to buy in large amounts of, I guess you would say, off brand food. I like to order from www.kensfish.com. You can buy a pound of pellets from him for $5, where as a pound of massivore would cost $25-$30. He has very good prices on food. You may see that his special foods such as his beefheat flakes doesn't have heefheart as the first ingredient, but thats fine with me. The stuff that does have beefheart as the main ingredient cost about 5x as much at other places. You may also see that most, if not all, of his food mainly consists of fish meal, but its the same with Hikari products, so I don't really see much of a difference. His prices are unbeatable and his food has the highest protein and fat value I can find. The first time you get on to his site you will want to buy everything you see. He also sells other items such as equipment. The only foods that I will probably never buy from him are frozen foods, which he only delivers within a reasonable distance or brings to conventions. I do buy brand name frozen foods from www.fosterandsmithaquatics.com. I usually do group orders with my local forum members and we get huge discounts plus the flat rate shipping.

Ill stick to raw for mine...much healthier and natural way to go.

Well my mom doesn't like me taking up freezer/refrigerator space as I already have 2 shelves taken up.

I will probably start occasionally, like once a week, giving my fish rosie reds from petsmart as I have a friend who works there and always gives me extras. I will do what you said and quarantine and gut load them before I feed them to my fish. I might also try frozen shrimp and talapia, if I can fit it into my two shelf spaces.

Live feeders are a good suppliment as long as they are healthy and gut loaded with good food. Depending on how big your cat(s) is/are smaller ones wont take much tilapia to reach satiation/fullness. When mine were smaller it would be a fillet a week. They would also only take 2-3 shrimp cut up.

Here he is. He is about 6" long, excluding the feelers. It was hard to get a good pick because he kept moving, plus the lighting isn't very good. I just set up the tank, a 75, a week ago, so there are no decorations or substrate except for a bucket that I put in there. Also, what appears as tiny debris suspended in the water is air bubbles.

Here he is in the light. His body isn't crooked, that's just the direction he was going.

Here he is under the bucket. The bucket is suspended in the water with a mag float scrubber. The debris isn't poop. My current is too strong for any poop to settle. It is bloodworms.

Finally, this is his mug shot. the angle of the picture must have thrown off the lighting. The damage on his gill is from being caught in the net, but it is heeling.
