Could a bubble disk make your large cichlids healthy by circulating the water.this is a question that i always wanted are aeriation divices even necessary.

Aeration with a bubble wand or disk is not necessary if you have good surface movement. Most serious fishkeepers I know dont use bubbles at all.

my large tank struggles if i dont have sufficien airation, ive found that surface movement just isnt enough
getting good oxygen in the water is very benificial to the fish., i'd say, it's not required to get a bubble disk, but it wouldn't hurt, in the past i have used larger air pumps on some of my tanks, but it started drifting away from me, because i find many are very noisey.
I just added a two foot bubble wand to my 75 gallon. The fish seem to be a lot more active than they were without it, swimming trough the bubbles. I always thought the bubbles looked silly, like a kid's tank, but if my fish like it then whatever!
i use bubble disks on my tank to help with airation, i have heard though that if you have a planted tank that they can be affected.
