Right now my boa spends alot of time in his water bowl.whenever he is in the water bowl i place a infared bulb over the enclosure,so he will wade in warm water.I saw a show on national geographic, where a guy was explaininng the number 1 reason snakes get large is because they have large bodies of water to swim through, alot faster then crawling on land.I always thought boa constricors
were well rounded snakes, meaning they are ground, arboreal and semiwater dwelling snakes. Is this normal for a boa to spend a couple days in a water bowl,at a time.

Don't believe National Geographic. Ever. They lie, they twist facts and support stupid theories that don't hold water in the academic community.

Beside that... the first thing that come to my mind is mites, however my boas seldom go in water, but I have heard of those that go in water bowls all the time. It could also be in the water because it feels more secure, or it is about to shed.

Or you could have "one of those boas". You hear about snakes that spend a lot of time in their water bowls for no apparent reason (although this is the most unlikely all of options). Don't put the water bowl underneath the heater though...

o ok.well right now it is no longer in the water bowl, but it left a big ol terd.It actually just shed a couple days ago.

I see boas in water bowls all the time. I saw one at my pet store that fell asleep in her water bowl with her mouth on the edge. Quite a funny sight.
