At the following site this guy created an actual "water-bridge"
http://www.bio-elite.com/waterbridge.htm
Therefore, I knew it could be done, so I wanted to try and make one for myself using his instructions. It turns out that this project could cost be anywhere from $200-$500 depending on where I get the PVC. I would like to, but I don't think I'm ever going to spend that much on a project this size. Apparently he got his for $50 USD. Then again, I'm not sure how old the site was when he posted that article, and one of those pictures looks quite dated. Also, he lives in South Africa...but I'm not sure if that makes a difference?
Anyways, so I was wondering if I could use 3-4" flexible tubing instead? It would probably cost me $20-$40 for all of the tubing (I might have multiple tubes;)) I would have to secure it some way...any ideas? Also, would the fish be able to travel say 12-16" upwards and downwards into a tank?
That would be pretty neat to have 2 tanks next to each other and have that concept.

Thanks.

That doesnt sound too bad of an idea to do one day..
it probally would be a good way to circulate your waters too..
hmmm i might have a go with 2 of my little tanks except ill use glass instead of pvc will look better i think.
nice post

sucuring the pvc would be tricky if your wanting to go long lengths.
make a huge maze for the fish to swim around hahaha

Hahaha, the fish probably wouldn't want to travel through some rollercoaster though. But maybe I'm wrong? How you would use glass though? Do they make it that size? What do you think the prices are? Also, that would be quite a disaster if it broke and PVC probably won't break ;)

i think its an ok idea,it would be good to make one for bigger fish like most of us keep,id like to maybe try it out, maybe like connect 2 55's or something like that,Ive seen something like this on ebay but it was like a triangle shape

I can't imagine my fish going through that though... I would be down connecting two 50 gallon tanks though... cheap stuff.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Round-acrylic-t...hZ001QQcategoryZ61795QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem I have been thinking about this for a while allthough i will never get around to it. From what i have seen this is a good deal on a tube that size. You have to buy 72 inches from this person but they will cut it for you. So you could do a 4' bridge and have the 1' extension on each end allready cut and ready. They had some 6'' ID 45 degree connectors on ebay for a while and they were around 40 bucks each. But nothing this neat is ever cheap. Good luck and get this project going.-------------PS-- they have diameters all the way up to 12'' or allmost big enough to put a basket ball thru but man does the price go up.
