Just curious how putting untreated water may affect your qater quality. Although after filled, I'' be adding a dechlor, but is that too late? I plan on doing 25-30% water changes weekly on a 110G, does chlorine/chloramine affect tbe bio activity? How about the varying temperature of the water if only using cold? Is it better to mix hot/cold to get close to the current tank temperature? Inquiring minds want to know.....

let the water splash off of the python tube to help degass it (dont let the tube go under the water either)

keep the temp as close as you can to the tank temperature.
This is how I do all of my tanks (at the moment) and its never caused a problem.
If you havent you should read the sticky on drip systems. Very good way to go.

I agree , rallyman good advice. i also attach a air pump too a powerhead to defuse the water with tons of air when refilling
Test your tap water to find out how much chlorine your water contains. I only have a little, so I add my cloram-x after the tank is filled with no ill effects to date. I think a bigger concern is matching you tank temperature.
Thanks, good advice, I had done it this way in the past, but just got back in the hobby, and after reading all these posts, its made me become hyper-senstitive (I'm doing that mbuna thing).........
